Work Description: Our old, 1952 roof for our home in Palos Verdes Estates was completely removed and Chandler's installed a brand new Boral tile roof.

Comments: Chandler's Roofing is an outstanding company. We researched a number of local roofing companies online and also got several estimates. Chandler's outshone every company, hands down. Every member of the staff with whom we dealt was a pleasure (including the manager, office staff, estimate guy, laborers, etc.). Each person was polite and competent, such rarities in business, these days. Calls and emails were responded to in a timely fashion and communication was clear. The work crew was extremely courteous and never left a mess. This company worked with us kindly and creatively in terms of financing and truly "earned our business". Chandler's Roofing is a company of real people with heart and integrity. A new roof is a huge job and a sizeable expense. Chandler's Roofing is the company to trust with this. My husband has already made a referral to them and we have told our realtor about Chandler's, as well. The roof looks fantastic and we continue to receive compliments.

Work Description: Tore off old composite roof on main house and detached garage in Rancho Palos Verdes, and replaced with combination of Boral clay tile and IB roofing. At the same time worked with Sungevity to properly install solar panels.

Comments: The roof and solar panel installation came out beautifully. It was a little more difficult than I'd hoped to get Brian and the solar installers on the same page, and everything took longer than I thought it would, but in the end, I'm very happy with the work, and highly recommend Chandler's Roofing.

Work Description: The eves of our Rancho Palos Verdes home and detached garage had developed wood rot over the years. We were aware of the damage to a degree, having had the house, and eves painted about 5 years earlier. At that time patchup repairs were made in connection with the paint job. We called in Chandlers, whom we had successfully used for a roof leak repair more than 10 years prior and because of their outstanding rating on Angie's list. Ricardo estimated, staffed and supervised the job which considted of replacing a number of roof rafters, many linier feet of starter board, fascia, roof paper, painting, etc. to repair all affected areas. It soon became evident that the damage was more extensive than was visable from initial inspection. Working with Ricardo, we approached the job in sectionsto keep track of the total projected cost of the repairs. He was most helpful and cooperative.

Comments: Chandler's assigned two very experienced, highly professional roofers to complete the job over a six day period including a new gutter installation. Both Abel and Marty were outstanding workers; highly knowledgeable, experienced and very cooperative in answering all our questions and keeping us informed of progress. Thet office people were also top notch- all in all, we are very satisfied with the job and with Chandlers whom we would recommend wirhout any reservations.

Work Description: Obtained city permits. Removed concrete tile roof and all plywood sub roof that was not up to standard. Replaced rotted plywood, 4 rafter tails. Installed 3" insulation on East facing slope. Installed GAF Grand Sequoia Shingle roofing system and 2 tubular skylights on our fame's home in Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Comments: I obtained 3 bids to re-roof our house. Chandlers were not the cheapest, but they presented the Cadillac of options and products in a most professional way. They were the only company that suggested that we could put insulation on top of the roof and under the shingles so making a considerable difference to the temperature conditions in the living/dining room with the open beam ceilings. They also suggested the skylights in the kitchen and down a very dark hallway. These are dome skylights and have made a HUGE difference. They worked well with the plumber who came to remove the old water heater and therefore one of the chimneys was being eliminated. The job took 4 days, they were extremely professional, polite and considerate. Every night they would go round the driveway and make sure there were no nails for the car to run over and the site was clean and tidy. The project manager was there every step of the way and the company director came by every day to check in with me. I felt I had made new friends. All the crew were professional, experienced and willing to go the extra mile. I chose Chandlers based upon their reputation, their presentation and commitment to customer satisfaction. I was not disappointed and would recommend them to anyone.

Work Description: They re-shingled an entire 1923 craft's house that had 3 layers of previous shingles, as well as the replacement of some wood siding, fascia and total install of new plywood decking.

Comments: Perfect! Chandlers' has a reputation for performing the highest degree of craftsmanship and they most certainly lived up to that standard. The request for estimate was prompt and the salesman arrived with all literature and samples to make a decision on the spot. The crew was exemplary. The work was finished on time. I could not recommend them more. They were the only company from which I requested an estimate, but their reputation and presentation were so impressive that I made the decision on the spot. I do not know if they are the cheapest, my gardener's cousin probably could have done it for less. But, the quality of workmanship was certainly more important than the extra cost. I would unqualifiedly recommend them.

Services performed include the following: - Preparation: obtain permits, tear off old roof (4 layers), haul away debris, clean area - Replace damaged lumber where needed - Install roof (underlayment, metal, flashings, vents, rain gutters, shingles, roof, etc. - Paint/touch up as needed In addition to the superior and professional service, Daniel from Chandler's Roofing was in constant contact with me giving me updates, inspecting the work progress, and making sure that his team was working efficiently and effectively.

Comments: As a new homeowner with zero home repair experiences, I was completely worried about the reroofing process...but thankfully I made the correct decision in selecting Chandler's Roofing. I decided to wait until after going through some rain storms before submitting my review, but there really was no need for me to wait...my new roof looks great and is free of any defects! Work Description: We contacted Chandler's roofing from Angie's List.Daniel Marchand was the project manager. He went over all the options for our roof. We decided to get the installation of a FR COOL Modified Bitumen Class "A" Roofing System. We have a flat roof and this was the one we decided to go with.

Comments: Daniel's group of guys did an outstanding job. Miguel was the supervisor and had an excellent group of guys!! My husband took pictures of the whole process from start to finish. They were all professional, courteous and did a great job!! We will recommend them highly to all our friends and family. We are also having our roof top deck done by Chandler's Roofing.

Work Description: They did a couple of roof repairs for me. They first did an official roof inspection as I was selling my home, then they came back later to clean the roof and do some patch work. After discovering yet another leak in my old roof, they later came to patch the roof again.

Comments: They were a little pricey. However, they were very good and punctual. I have no complaints with the service and would definitely use them again.

Comments: My roof leaked in a specific section that I identified in my attic. I called Chandler's after seeing them on Angie's List and Roofing Networks, and they were very responsive and professional. I liked that they were willing to negotiate on the price, which was originally quite high, and they agreed to extend extra potential service visits because I was worried about potential new leaks that might not show up until it rained several times. We've made it through a few rains and the leak is gone!

Work Description: We received 3 bids and chose Chandler due to their, knowledge, professionalism, and product. We are a condo association and we were looking for a product that would provide a great warranty and service with just one company, Chandler offered that for us. Price was not the cheapest, in fact Chandler was the most expensive. We were looking for long term results and we, the roofing committee, felt that Chandler provided the most comprehensive bid in a timely manner. They get kudos alone for just dealing with the HOA Board! Though the project is only half done as we have 50 units, I can highly recommend Chandler's Roofing, Inc.

Comments: Do get three bids and try to compare apples to apples. This was a very hard process. Don't wait until your roof is so bad to repair. Our board put off roofing and we are now paying for rotting wood on facia's, etc. Chandler made a great presentation to the roofing committee. Ask and you receive. Work with the owner of the business. Other bidders were just "salesmen" and talked too much and promised "whatever you needed" to get the job. We are experienced enough to know they couldn't keep their promises. Ask for good pricing, it is a tough market out there, margins are low, but there is still room to move.

Work Description: A 1928 small Spanish bungalow with a long-neglected roof. Small house with detached dbl.garage. Attached to garage are an office, workshop and large covered patio. The roofs on all buildings were stripped of all old roofing. Original Spanish tile removed and saved to be reapplied. Five layers of roofing removed from flat roofs. Asphalt shingles removed from patio. Then plywood, rafters, facia boards, were replaced as needed. They installed a solar roof vent, vents from bathroom & kitchen fans. And finally they installed new gutters/downspouts.

Comments: We had 5 Angies List contractors talk to us and give bids. As each one came we learned more and more about how they might deal with our old buildings which had multiple problems of neglect. After we studied all the bids we narrowed it down to HALO and Chandlers, both the top cost bids. All bids were emailed to us except Chandlers. Daniel delivered the bid and took time to explain the whys and wherefores to us. This put Chandlers at a definite advantage. HALO was unable to start the job soon enough so we went with Chandlers. We realized that the costs would rise above the original $20,000. bid as problems were uncovered. As the job went on over three weeks many problems had to be dealt with. Daniel, the project manager, was there almost daily to discuss the problems and options of solutions. We were there at the house daily and appreciated being involved in the discussion. We also asked to be able to paint all the new lumber before they installed it. They allowed this. Here are the reasons we felt we chose the right company: -Chandlers has been in business 70 years. We came to appreciate the value of a long-standing company. They will be there to honor their warantees. -They have workers with a long history with Chandlers. They have many skills. They were the only company who had the skills to remove and reuse the original Spanish tile. Miguel and Francisco were excellent on-site bosses. -Workers were quiet, neat, friendly. Cleaned site up each night. -We liked that they used USA-made GAF products. -As the job progressed we were very glad of our choice. They had the knowledge and skills to deal with all the problems. We highly recommend them.

Work Description: Chandler's removed our old rock/asphalt roof and installed a new white roof using the 60 mil IB Roof System. They repaired all damaged wood, installed a 2" form insulation and repaired skylight seals and gutters. City inspections after the old roof tear-off and at job completion found no defects in their workmanship.

Comments: Our job started a few days later than originally scheduled due to a material supplier delay. Chandler's kept us informed and started the job promptly on the rescheduled date. All phases of the job went well. The crew was courteous and friendly, taking great care to prevent any damage to landscaping from the construction and the associated debris. They covered outdoor furniture and cleaned at the end of each day's work. I highly recommend Chandler's Roofing and their IB Roof System.

Comments: My level of satisfaction with Chandler's Roofing is absolutely off-the-charts great! It began with Ricardo's prompt visit/estimate and knowledgeable recommendation for a high-tech integrated roof membrane I had never heard of (IB Roof Systems) to replace my worn-out roof. And it continued throughout every aspect of the project. In a word, the performance of Chandler's Roofing was superb. It was a 4-day job, performed by true craftsmen who took great pride in their abilities. The crew arrived on-time every morning, performed their tasks with impressive skill and care and teamwork during unseasonably hot weather, and cleaned up neatly and throughly at the end of every afternoon. They also answered all of my tedious and unsophisticated questions respectfully and patiently. The entire job was completed on-time and on-budget. Honestly, this was one of the very few experiences I have had as a homeowner where I can say that these professionals treated the repair of MY home as if it was a repair of THEIR homes. Brian Hicks, the owner, deserves great credit for building such an outstanding culture of competence and customer service among his employees. And that's not all. After the job was done, I began to receive e-newsletters from Brian with helpful tips about roof maintenance and repair. Which brings me to why I waited several months to post this review. Yes, the work was performed beautifully, but it's a ROOF, and one does not know if it keeps the rain out until it actually RAINS......and not just once, but a few times. So I intentionally postponed writing this review until after the rainy season to be sure that I could say without any equivocation that this roof replacement project has been a complete success!

Work Description: Concrete Tile Re-Roof

Comments: Brian Hicks presented me with a number of roofing alternatives and we selected the alternative that served our needs. As a result, we replaced the concrete roof on a two story, 4,000 square foot, cape cod home. The roof design is complex with a turret on the second level and a number of small roofs on the first story. The old roof was removed and the plywood roof underlay was repaired as required. A new type of self adhesive underlay (Boral Tile Seal) was installed that did not require nailing. New concrete tile was installed. The lower roofs were foamed under the tiles (Poly Foam) to allow window cleaners, painters or other contractors to stand on the roof without breaking the concrete tiles. The price quoted also included two new chimney caps that were manufactured by the contractor and two new spark arrestors. The roof looks terrific, all the tile lines are perfectly aligned, and the house now appears to be new construction, in short the contractor and the roofing installers were terrific! The workers are safely conscious and use new safety innovations and safety harnesses. I recommend Chandler's Roofing without reservation! Prior to my roof, I watched Chandler's Roofing install roofs on four homes in my neighborhood and all roofing jobs turned out terrific. The workers were on time every day. Brian Hicks and members of his staff came by daily to check on the progress and quality of the job and advised us of any minor schedule changes. I was impressed that the workers cleaned up the job site and surrounding areas at the finish of the work day every evening. As stated above, I could not be more pleased with this contractors work.

Work Description: We had a complete re-roofing job on a complicated, slightly rooted in a place or two and leaky old roof.

Comments: Chandler's Roofing was the most professional and accessible company of the four we considered from Angie's List. Their quote was also the highest. So we did not of with them initially. However, they called and asked us why and we told them. They said they would negotiate based on the other quotes we had gotten. They went that extra FIVE miles to earn our business. The fellow that came to do the estimate was kind, clean, professional and took lots of pictures. The owner even came over and spent plenty of time explaining things with my ailing Father and special needs Sister! They made their price affordable, but what clenched it was when they asked, "Of the companies you got estimates from, who do you want to deal with in the future is anything ever goes wrong?" There was only one answer: Chandler's Roofing! I was so afraid all through the process. So many people have told me about their roofing nightmares. All through the process I was set for "the other shoe to drop" and the nightmare would start! And when the other shoe dropped, it was a wonderful comfy soft slipper because Chandler's Roofing is a dream come true! EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING they promised, everything they did, was TOP NOTCH! Clean, professional, comparable, fast, considerate, patient, understanding... Really. And there were so many special things they had to do to make that roof "well" again! You want to know what really struck me the most? When they were done, I could really feel they were genuinely excited and proud of their work as they were showing us all the neat ways they handled their challenges!

Comments: Great experience on a re-roofing job. Blake, Erica and the whole crew were very helpful and responsive to questions. Blake was always available to answer questions as the work progressed. He provided large samples of the shingles to see the true color versus what the pamphlets showed. Erica was right on top of things, promptly sent emails and made phone calls to keep us informed. The work crew was very professional and thorough, not only on the roof but also cleaning up around the property (and the garage!!). There were no interruptions - they worked this job every day, from start to finish. Great looking roof. Couldn't ask for a better company to deal with.
